The sculptural language of Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas originates from the basic form of the human head. Whether simplified through the use of contours and profiles, or by the reduction of details in the case of the monumental works, her abstract faces symbolize a universal human condition throughout time. Strong-Cuevas, a film by Lana Jokel, is a visual journey of the artistic process of Elizabeth’s sculpture. Join us after the screening for a panel featuring Lana Jokel, Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas, and director and chief curator of Guild Hall Christina Strassfield. Reception to follow.
